Milestones...

Its only taken about 38 years of birding for the Sandhill Crane at the Loch of Strathbeg to take its place on my list...I dont want to make a song and dance about it, but, it is my  400th species in the UK..... I say... its.....

Sandhill Crane ...
...not 399...

Cheers Alan!
Not another word to be said on the subject. I dont recall seeing anything else up there really...see here for another account of our twitch.

Dave - JackD...

Brian - Yep better than Caspian Gull.

Steve - On rare occasions...

Alan - No probs I'm sure.

Warren - Well, funny you should say that. I hear Green winged Teal is looking to be removed and Slender billed Curlew is up for review so I may be down to 398 before the years out!

Yes - about time for some extensive lumping. You'd lose a few gulls if I was in charge ....

Mark - Gulls? Mmmm, All I've had are good'uns? Now Redpoll or Crossbill and you have a point....

Gary - Sometimes it must be done....

Well done on the 400 Stewart, looks like it's heading closer to home now though!

I got it on the Saturday when it gave a low flyover right across our heads, craking bird.

What do you think 500 will be?! :-)

Well I'm pleased the Crane buggered off to make our journey worthwhile! As for my 500th, I reckon for someone like me a lifetime is no more than 425.
