Sunday 3rd April...
On Foot from Home found a few new arrivals around about...
Three nice male Wheatears were together on the teepee track while 3 Sand Martins hawked over Howick Haven. Down at the burn mouth, a male Blackcap mirrored last years early sighting. Chiffchaffs are in force now singing every 50 yards in woodland. At least one Crossbill was flying around pines at the burn moth too, and not far away I found a Buzzard sitting on a new nest platform, then mating in a nearby tree. Cheeky Jackdaws started stealing sticks off the Buzzard nest when the flew off!
2 Redwings were sub-singing in trees along the burn.
On a nice spring day like this a flower species are on the increase -

with good shows of Marsh Marigold, Wood Anemone, Butterbur, Primrose, Common Field Speedwell and Red Dead Nettle. Around these and some sallows was my first Bee-fly of the year and a couple of Peacock butterflies. While I was taking the flower photos above, a Roebuck in velvet ( his antlers, not a 70's jacket) was quietly watching me from a glade before dancing off into the trees...

Hi Stewart - I live next to the middle of nowhere and had ongoing probs with BT for well over a year. Consequently I know way too much more than I should have to about BT's kafkaesque admin processes and sometimes way too much than some of the engineers (ha!) they sent out but more importantly - what (eventually) worked for me was
1) posting a really grumpy message on the BT commmunity care forum (title Truly appalling customer service from BT). This should give you access to the customer care guys somewhere in Ireland.
2) Doing the same on the DigitalSpy Broadband forum (activley monitored by BT)
and finally emailing the chairman - ian.livingston@bt.com.

Wheatear seem to have passed me by Stewart, only had 1 so far this year, nice to see you back in action :-)
Looks can be decieving folks..I'm currently on to a helpful chap from Northern Ireland...watch this space, thanks for the support.

Did the Howick - Craster circular today, cracking weather for April.
Several Blackcaps singing in the Arnold Memorial thingy today, with a couple of Willow Warbler and numerous Chiff Chaff.
Heard a Tawny hooting in a wooded garden near Craste Tower
