Just along the road from the 'dry arch' I found this chap. In immaculate condition he was still warm when I picked him up to bury in the garden...

Later on, along the coast path, some Fulmars were right next to the cliff top making a right old racket. Not the most inspiring of species, they are quite comical in appearance and can be very inquisitive. They especially like to have a close look at the dog by doing regular close fly-bys. I once had one come in off the sea at Hauxley beach to check out our previous dog. He was running around while this Fulmar passed time and again only a metre or so above his back, cocking its head, to have a look....next time you are near some cliff edges just stand and watch them come to check you out...

Must be the same drivers that use the lane on my patch.
Reckon you should print of and laminate the squirrel photo, then stick it over the speed sign :-)
Shame about the Squirrel - though why bury it? You've deprived a whole eco-system ;-)
Gets my back right up when I see dead Squirrels and Oyk/Curlew Chicks. We get a few casaulties up here, on roads where they should be able to stop in time.
One day it may be a tractor not a squirrel around the next bend.
I think the Save our Squirrels team at NWT may have been interested in the corpse so that they could check for signs of squirrel pox etc.

Mark - It was a stunning little critter. They are getting scarcer here so it always upsets me when one dies like this, I couldnt just let it lie there to become a pizza...
