Ardnamurchan.

Some holiday snaps from our trip away last week. Not many wildlife pics for one reason or another. We did see Golden Eagle over our house mobbed by two Ravens and a Buzzard, a White tailed Eagle over the Ardnamurchan point, Pine Marten ate jam and bread in our garden on two evenings but it was too dark for photos, the usual Red throated Divers, Mergansers etc in the bays, plus many butterflies and moths. Moth photos will follow later...Click for a full size picture...

I've always fancied going to Ardnamurchan, looks fantastic! Great photo's too, especially the sunset, it's been added to ever-growing list of places to go.

I see how the poor weather spoilt your holiday - there's always next year;-) Cracking stuff.

Blimey, cracking weather !!

Was the pine marten at a B&B that feeds them somewhere in Argyll ? I'm thinking of going there, been talking to TC about it, he was there a couple of weeks ago and saw one....

Cheers all.
The Pine Marten was in the garden of our house, pictured. We had them every day when we were there three years ago.

Chequered Skippers are easy providing you get a nice day.

Brian, every time we go in May or June we do alright for the weather...oh oh what have I said!

Great area Stew, been to Ardnamurchan twice in recent years.

We could spend (and did spend on one occasion) all day off the Lighthouse sea-watching.

Some great birds, great scenery and a place I'm sure we'll revisit again in the future.

NS - we had a couple Pine Martens on Ardnamurchan one evening crossing the road, they're quite common is a tad elusive.

We tried for Wildcat as well....needle in a haystack job.

I was brought up and live in Port Glasgow (bit of a hard town)but my Family are from Acharacle, Arnamurchan. It's one of the most amazing, tranquil places on earth and has a fascinating history I used to go every holiday I could but havent been for at least 7yrs now but it'll always stay in my heart. Great Pics bud!
