Saturday 23rd August 2008

This morning was warm and sunny with a light SW3.

We walked around Seaton Point first thing. The biggest suprise was when 2 Crossbills flushed from the point and flew off south calling as they went. Only my second record here. At the high tide roost 161+ Oystercatchers was a massive count and 10 Grey Plovers were also present.

A Painted Lady came in from the sea and rested on the beach edge before moving on. 1 Wall and 7 Large Whites were on Hawkweed here too.

In our yard, 2 Peacocks, 1 Red Admiral, 2 Small Tortoiseshell, 1 Wall and 4+ Large Whites were on the Buddleia.
