A few interesting things this morning. Out with JWR we checked a river not too far west of Alnwick and found 2
Green Sandpipers, 3 Common Sandpipers and a pair of
Little Ringed Plovers with at least 2 tiny chicks.
Nearby this spot were plenty of butterflies - Ringlets, Meadow Browns, Small Skippers, Small Tortoiseshell, Green Viened White and this Small Copper -
Nearer home, a single Raven showed well mobbed by gulls and some juvenile warblers were flocking up around the village with several Whitethroats, Sedge Warblers, Chiffchaff and Blackcaps around the duck pond and up the lane.
Still, as its summer, moths are still at the forefront so these were new -
Left - Agonopteryx angelicella and right, Blastobasis adustella.
210 moths of 60 sp.
