At Boulmer this evening a walk up and around Longhoughton Steel had 2 Wheatears, the first of the autumn, 40 each Ringed Plover and Dunlin, 1 pale phase Arctic Skua flushing the roosting gulls and terns and a few Golden Plover.

  1. There was a Wheatear on the beach at Boulmer on Monday - flitting around those sandstone formations just North of the FBI. Impressive geogology, by the way, if only I were into such things.

  3. Are you into geology BB?

Julie (the wife) was fascinated by it all and I admit to be strangely drawn to it all

Sandstone I guess implies eras of erosion revealing it, but some of the patterns on your beach were superb.

Me, I'm still trying to get to grips with birds never mind anything else..........a steep learning curve to be sure?
