At least you saw something despite the temperature drop. Back in the 80's when I was very new at leading otter survey training days on the Coquet I recall a heated discussion with a father of a family group who 'had come on the day to watch otters' He was not best pleased when I said at my preamble that we'd not see otter just signs.
